  • 36.6 billion PLN for distributed energy until 2028

    By 2028, distributed energy will receive PLN 36.3 billion of support from the budget of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management – said Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski, during the press conference.

    According to the Minister, this support will be dedicated to largely for the needs of building units with an installed electric capacity of up to 50 MW.
    Under the Energia Plus program, entrepreneurs may apply for loans for the development of renewable energy sources. The budget of the program is PLN 4 billion, and the maximum amount of aid reaches PLN 300 million.


    The pilot District Heating Program will also be launched. Its budget is PLN 500 million, and the program is addressed to heat suppliers with at least 70% participation of local governments.

    The aim of the programs is to improve air quality in Poland and the development of renewable energy sources.

    Prosumer package for small and medium-sized enterprises

    The government adopted on Tuesday the so-called prosumer package, included in the draft amendment to the Act on Renewable Energy Sources. The package extends prosumer status to small and medium companies.


    The adoption of the prosumer package by the government is another step on the way to increasing the role of community energy  in the Polish energy sector.

    Łódź Klaster Fala Energii – another initiative of community energy in Poland

    Veolia Energia Łódź together with Aqua Park Łódź, Technical University of Łódź and the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences signed up on 17 July 2019 an agreement on the establishment of the Łódź Klaster Fala Energii.

    The main goal is to ensure energy security, improve the environment and economy. Close cooperation of the members will ensure the development of the renewable energy (geothermal energy, photovoltaics, cogeneration) and increase of the efficient energy use. 

    The energy cluster is a part of the R.EN.CO.P initiative launched under the Co2mmunity project, which in Poland has an expert character and functions as an open working group to create a favorable environment for the dynamic development of community energy – mainly in the form of local energy markets, i.e. energy clusters.
